Squirrel - Art Project - Grades K-2
Students can enjoy a simple fall counting book, then create a page themselves from things they
have found outdoors.
Materials Needed:
Construction paper, scissors, crayons, tacky glue, fall objects collected from outdoors, printouts
included with project
Directions:
1) Share the squirrel counting coloring book with the students.
2) Take children for a nature walk and look for signs of fall, such as seeds, dry grasses, fall
leaves. This can also be assigned for them to do at home and bring such items to school.
3) Cut included squirrel patterns in half (there are two on one page). Students can color the
squirrel. The space for writing and making a counting page may be used, or may be cut off.
4) Students should arrange their fall items on the page, and then glue in place with tacky glue.
