Installing FIFA 12 Windows® (disc users): * Insert the disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions. * Once the game has installed you can launch it by locating the game through the Start menu. * Games on Windows® Vista are located in the Start > Games menu and on earlier versions of Windows® in the Start > Programs (or All Programs) menu. Windows® (EA Store users): * Once the game has been downloaded by Origin, click the install icon that appears and follow the on-screen instructions. * Launch the game (once it is installed) directly from Origin. In Windows® Vista Classic Start menu style, games are located in the Start > Programs > Games > Games Explorer menu. b.) Digital Retail Installation Please contact the digital retailer through whom you purchased this game for instructions on how to install the game or how to download and reinstall another copy of the game. If your "Autorun" feature is disabled If for some reason your "Autorun" feature is disabled, you can install the program by running AUTORUN.EXE directly from the root directory of the DVD. ============================================================ 3. DirectX® 9.0c ============================================================ DirectX® 9.0c will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 12 installation. a.) Installing DirectX® directly from DVD FIFA 12 comes with DirectX® 9.0c. If you would like to install it manually, make sure the FIFA 12 DVD is in the DVD-ROM drive, and access the following path on your DVD-ROM drive: "\DirectX\" Double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to begin DirectX® 9.0c installation. b.) DirectX® and supported hardware We recommend that FIFA 12 be run with DirectX® 9.0c compatible sound cards and video cards. We also suggest you update your sound card and video card driver to the newest release from the vendor or chipset website. ============================================================ 4. Uninstalling FIFA 12 ============================================================ For Windows® XP, you can uninstall FIFA 12 by accessing "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. For Windows® Vista, you can uninstall FIFA 12 by accessing "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. For Windows® 7, you can uninstall FIFA 12 by accessing "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. ============================================================ 5. Memory Requirements ============================================================ a.) Memory requirements in Windows FIFA 12 requires a minimum of 1 GB of RAM to run the game (2 GB required for Windows® Vista / Windows® 7). Note: The more system memory available, the better the game will perform in all areas. b.) Running the game under stressful Windows conditions At Electronic Arts™ we strive to bring you the best in graphics, audio and gameplay. We are always pushing the envelope of computer performance. While we have made every effort to ensure that FIFA 12 multi-tasks with all applications for Windows®, we recommend that you shut down other applications and run FIFA 12 by itself when possible. c.) Virtual memory We recommend that you let your operating system automatically manage the amount of virtual memory. ============================================================ 6. FIFA 12 Save Folder ============================================================ Windows XP - The FIFA 12 save folder is located in \Documents and Settings\”Username”\Documents\FIFA 12 Vista/Win7 - The FIFA 12 save folder is located in \Users\”Username”\Documents\FIFA 12 ============================================================ 7. Improving Game Speed ============================================================ There are several ways by which you can speed up the overall FIFA 12 experience: a.) Lower the resolution in the FIFA 12 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. b.) Lower the rendering quality in the FIFA 12 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. c.) Turn off the MSAA in the FIFA 12 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. d.) Disable the radar from within the game under Game Settings. e.) Turn the Commentary Volume all the way down within the game under Game Settings. f.) Uncheck the Wait for Vsync option in the FIFA 12 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. ============================================================ 8. Hot Keys ============================================================ The following hot keys can be used in the game to access certain functions more quickly. To bring up Origin in-game: SHIFT + F1 The following relates to VOIP and is for the Numpad only: * = Turn off VOIP - = Turn down VOIP volume + = Turn up VOIP volume ESC = Pause ============================================================ 9. Mouse, Keyboard and Controller Functionality ============================================================ You can use the mouse, keyboard or controller to navigate the game interface. Once you are on the Side select screen, you must move whichever input device you plan to use in the game to the left or the right to select your team. Please note that you may have to recalibrate your controllers in Windows® in order to have the game detect them correctly. To bring up the in-game pause menus, you can press the Start button (if your gamepad has one) or press ESC. Within the FIFA 12 launcher application you can select the gamepad that has button icons that most closely represent the gamepad that you use. Once in game you can customize your game experience in Customize FIFA -> SETTINGS -> CONTROLS The use of a 360º-degree dual analog gamepad such as the Logitech® Dual Action is highly recommended for full functionality.
