Le fils d'Anna Plot / Synopsis In Ancient Greek mythology Tiresias was a blind seer who had experienced life as a man and a woman (and claimed sex was nine times better for females). His presence, most notably as the harbinger of doom in 'Oedipus Rex', was always disquieting. Bonello's modern version radically changes many elements of the story, but it preserves the haunting aura of this half-man half-woman and makes for unsettling viewing. Terranova (Lucas) picks up Tiresias that the dark fiction begins. He takes her home and declares "You're going to live with me". The prisoner-hostage relationship, reminiscent of William Wyler's thriller The Collector, is explored at length with all its contradictory moments of love and hate.
