Installing FIFA 13 Windows® (disc users): * Insert the disc into your disc drive and follow the on-screen instructions. * Once the game has installed you can launch it by locating the game through the Start menu. * Games on Windows® Vista are located in the Start > Games menu and on earlier versions of Windows® in the Start > Programs (or All Programs) menu. Windows® (EA Origin Store): * Once the game has been downloaded by Origin, click the install icon that appears and follow the on-screen instructions. * Launch the game (once it is installed) directly from Origin. In Windows® Vista Classic Start menu style, games are located in the Start > Programs > Games > Games Explorer menu. b.) Digital Retail Installation Please contact the digital retailer through whom you purchased this game for instructions on how to install the game or how to download and reinstall another copy of the game. If your "Autorun" feature is disabled If for some reason your "Autorun" feature is disabled, you can install the program by running AUTORUN.EXE directly from the root directory of the DVD. ============================================================ 3. DirectX® 9.0c ============================================================ DirectX® 9.0c will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 13 installation. a.) Installing DirectX® directly from DVD FIFA 13 comes with DirectX® 9.0c. If you would like to install it manually, make sure the FIFA 13 DVD is in the DVD-ROM drive, and access the following path on your DVD-ROM drive: "\DirectX\" Double-click on DXSETUP.EXE to begin DirectX® 9.0c installation. b.) DirectX® and supported hardware We recommend that FIFA 13 be run with DirectX® 9.0c compatible sound cards and video cards. We also suggest you update your sound card and video card driver to the newest release from the vendor or chipset website. ============================================================ 4. .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 ============================================================ .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 13 installation. ============================================================ 5. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 ============================================================ Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 will be installed as part of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 13 installation. ============================================================ 6. Uninstalling FIFA 13 ============================================================ For Windows® Vista, you can uninstall FIFA 13 by accessing "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. For Windows® 7, you can uninstall FIFA 13 by accessing "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. ============================================================ 7. Memory Requirements ============================================================ a.) Memory requirements in Windows FIFA 13 requires a minimum of 2 GB of RAM to run the game for Windows® Vista / Windows® 7. Note: The more system memory available, the better the game will perform in all areas. b.) Running the game under stressful Windows conditions At Electronic Arts™ we strive to bring you the best in graphics, audio and gameplay. We are always pushing the envelope of computer performance. While we have made every effort to ensure that FIFA 13 multi-tasks with all applications for Windows®, we recommend that you shut down other applications and run FIFA 13 by itself when possible. c.) Page File We recommend that you let your operating system automatically manage the size of the page file. ============================================================ 8. Improving Game Speed ============================================================ There are several ways by which you can speed up the overall FIFA 13 experience: a) Lower the resolution in the FIFA 13 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. b) Lower the rendering quality in the FIFA 13 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. c) Turn off the MSAA in the FIFA 13 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. d) Uncheck the Wait for Vsync option in the FIFA 13 launcher application under the Display Configuration tab within Game Settings. e) Disable the radar from within the game under Game Settings. f) Turn the Commentary Volume all the way down within the game under Game Settings. g) While we don’t recommend turning off your anti-virus software, performance can be impacted when certain anti-virus programs decide to wake up and run tasks while you are playing FIFA. h) Ensure that the ‘Disable Windows Aero Theme’ is checked in the FIFA 13 launcher application. ============================================================ 9. Hot Keys ============================================================ The following hot keys can be used in the game to access certain functions more quickly. To bring up Origin in-game: SHIFT + F1 The following relates to VOIP and is for the Numpad only: * = Turn off VOIP - = Turn down VOIP volume + = Turn up VOIP volume ESC = Pause ============================================================ 10. Mouse, Keyboard and Controller Functionality ============================================================ You can use the mouse, keyboard or controller to navigate the game interface and play in-game and new for FIFA 13 PC is the ability to play the game with Keyboard & Mouse at the same time. Advantages to this over the traditional ‘Keyboard Only’ controls are that you can have 360 degree dribbling and do skill moves more easily. You can also take advantage of new features such as, ‘Teammate Run’ and ‘Mark a Man’ where you use a button press and mouse movement to send a teammate on a created running path or point to an opponent that you want the nearest teammate to mark on defense. NOTE: This control method is for offline play only. Once you are on the Side select screen, you must move whichever input device you plan to use in the game to the left or the right to select your team. New for FIFA 13 is the ability to use each control device with either Classic, Alternate, or 2-button controls. Please note that you may have to recalibrate your controllers in Windows® in order to have the game detect them correctly. To bring up the in-game pause menus, you can press the Start button (if your gamepad has one) or press ESC. If you are using a gamepad as your primary control device, within the FIFA 13 launcher application you can select the gamepad that has button icons that most closely represent the gamepad that you use. Alternatively, if you want to use ‘Keyboard & Mouse’ or ‘Keyboard Only’ as your control device, make sure that on the PRESS START or SPACE screen that you press SPACE.
