About SameGame
SameGame , pronounced sah-meh-gah-meh, is a simple puzzle game in which the goal is to remove all the
marbles from the screen. You can read more about the history of the game at Wikipedia , the free
encyclopedia.
How to Play SameGame
If you're new to SameGame this section will give you a quick primer.
The objective is simple: clear groups of marbles from the board - which is not as easy as it sounds. Tap a
marble in a group to remove the group. Points are accumulated and marbles fall down to fill in gaps.
Overall strategy: Make it so you have a lot of marbles touching, and then eliminate them.

Gameplay Modes
When you begin a new game, you choose between two modes of gameplay: Classic and Endless. Following
are the basics of each mode.
Classic Mode
In Classic Mode, the objective is simple: clear the board - which is not as easy as it sounds. Tap on a marble
to remove it, however it must touch at least one marble of the same color, the more marbles it touches the
more points you get. Marbles fall down to fill in gaps, then they move over to fill empty columns. If you
clear a board completely, you gain a bonus, then you progress to a new board and keep accumulating points.
This continues until you are unable to clear a board.
Endless Mode
In Endless Mode, the game board stays full because new marbles and bombs keep dropping down as you
clear old ones from the board. There are always 6 initial colors in this mode.
Bombs: If you notice a round, black, suspicious-looking device amidst the marbles on your game screen,
have no fear. These bombs help you clear the board by blowing up any surrounding marbles. Each bomb has
the potential to blow up 8 marbles! But use wisely, because if two bombs are touching, one bomb will blow
up the other bomb.
Strategy: Save bombs until later in the game, when you have exhausted most other possibilities for clearing
marbles.

Scoring
Note that scoring is much the same for both Classic and Endless Modes . In general, the number of points you
get for each set of marbles increases exponentially as you clear more marbles from the board at once.
For example, on a 3-color Classic board, tapping 2 marbles gives 1 point, 3 marbles 4 points, 4 marbles 9

points, and so on. On more challenging boards, point values may be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled, as
shown in the table below.
However, in Endless Mode:
the game will always be played on a 6-Color Board,
no points are awarded for marbles which have been destroyed by bombs, and
it is not possible to clear groups of less than 3 marbles (so, no points).
Also, note that in Classic Mode, upon clearing a board you get a bonus based on the number of marble
colors. For 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-color boards, your bonus will be 500, 1000, 1500, or 2000, respectively.

5-Way Navigator
If your device has a 5-Way Navigator, you can use these buttons to control the game instead of using a
stylus. On the game screen, the 5-Way Navigator controls the cursor position and marble clicking. Right, left,
up, and down move the cursor (a gold square surrounding its marble of focus on the game board). Clicking
on the center button will click whichever marble is highlighted at the moment.

Game Menu
Note: You can access many menu items with menu shortcuts. Each menu shortcut is a letter which appears to
the right of its item on the menu. To utilize a menu shortcut, use your stylus to draw a Command Stroke plus
the letter.
New Game
Begins a new game. Shortcut: N
Restart Game
Restarts the current game. Shortcut: R
Undo Last Move Simple single-level undo. Shortcut: U
High Scores
Lists 10 highest scores and details such as board number,
date, and play time. There are separate high scores lists for
Classic and Endless Game Modes. See the High Scores
section for more details. Shortcut: H
Statistics
Gives some basic stats for recent gameplay including games
played, last score, recent average, lowest, and highest scores.

Preferences
Gives choices for sound, score hints, snow, guest mode,
battery level gauge, shift direction, marbles, background, and
number of initial colors (higher = a more difficult game). See
the Preferences section for more details. Shortcut: P
Register
Register to unlock your game once the 10-game trial period
has expired. Shortcut: G
Beam Game
Beam Xmas SameGame to all your friends and encourage
them to beat your high score. Shortcut: B

Game Screen
The game screen has various features, as seen in the
figure to the right. Your current score is at the top left.
The battery-level indicator is at top center, if you have
enabled it. The current board number is at the top right.
Tap the top right of the screen to check your Play Time,
an indication of how many minutes you've been playing
the current game. To access the Game Menu, tap
anywhere on the status area at the top left of the screen.
Snow falls across the game board by default, and you
never need to shovel! Still, you can turn it off if you
prefer (Game Menu > Preferences). Bombs on the game
board help you to clear marbles by blowing them up. Each
bomb is capable of blowing up any marble which touches
the bomb, up to 8 marbles per bomb!
