TRY THESE HOT IDEAS FOR SUMMER.
1. Cut a (6-foot-long) 1x 6 into three
2-foot-long pieces. (A Lowe’s employee
can cut the board for you.)
2. Drill a hole in the center of one board
using a drill/driver with a 2-inch hole saw
attachment. (Allow the hole saw to cool
between cuts.) Drill two more holes
spaced evenly on both sides of the first.
3. Sand all edges and circular openings.
4. Use wood glue to attach the three
boards, with the drilled board on top.
5. Prime, and allow to dry.
6. Paint stripes as shown. We used blue
paint (American Tradition, Precious Sapphire
#4010-7, satin) on top of white primer.

1. Cut a 10-inch piece of nylon rope (#66513).
2. Feed about 2 inches of one end through the
bottom hole of a 6-inch terra-cotta pot (as shown
in the inset below).
3. Add potting soil, and place seasonal plants
in the pot, making sure the rope stays inside.
4. Next, fill a 1-gallon paint can (#60689) with
about 3 inches of water.
5. Set the pot inside the can with the rope
in the water. The rope will transfer water
up to the plant, allowing
you to water less often.
Check the water level
every few days.

1. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions
to install a group of single-post paper
holders of your choice. We used three
chrome-finish holders (#134882) in a
hallway for a fresh, sleek look.
2. Hang coats, umbrellas, bags, and
other items on the holders.

1. Cut a 1 x 8 board to 1 foot in length.
(A Lowe’s employee can cut it for you.) Use
any leftover wood to create multiple projects.
2. Paint the board as desired; we used blue
(American Tradition, Ocean Soul #5009-9, satin).
3. Attach three pairs of coat-and-hat hooks
(a variety of styles are available at Lowe’s)
with the small hook ends touching, using
the included screws.

on any table, indoors or out.
2. Put your iced drinks on top.

any style with four bags of stone soil
cover (#139514).
