The Farm Service Agency is a
federal government agency in the
U.S. Department of Agriculture. It
exists to help farmers protect their land, get their
farms back in order after floods or tornadoes (and
other disasters), make loans to farmers who need help,
and to make sure farmers know about special programs
Congress creates for them.
The Farm Service Agency got its new name in
1994, but it has been around since the 1930s.
