I
n 2005 Inner Traditions/Bear
published Forbidden History , a
collection of Atlantis Rising ar-
ticles dealing with prehistoric
technologies, extraterrestrial inter-
vention and the suppressed origins
of civilization. The book did so
well—becoming one of the pub-
lisher’s best-selling titles and al-
ready translated into several lan-
guages—that in 2006 we all decided
to do it again.
With the publication of For-
bidden Religion that spring, At-
lantis Rising offered another collec-
tion of penetrating articles by some
of the best writers in the business
dealing with the suppressed here-
sies of the west. Once again the pro-
ject was successful and like its pre-
decessor soon appeared on the
Inner Traditions best-seller list and
was also translated into other languages. The inevitable question then became: what’s next?
We are happy to say that we can now answer that question definitively.
In the spring of 2008 Inner Traditions/Bear will be publishing Forbidden Science . From
ancient technologies to free energy, the new volume will include the best of Atlantis Rising
on the true story of science and technology, as suppressed by the orthodox scientific commu-
nity and its collaborators in government and the media.
Forbidden Science will explore some of the less-traveled, even darkened, corridors be-
neath the shining edifice of academic science. In its pages you will find evidence that, no
matter what the mandarins of the establishment would claim, the truth is not nearly so ex-
emplary, or easily disposed of. You will learn of many controversial notions supposedly de-
bunked by conventional argument, if, in fact, they have been discussed at all. But, from the
true function of the Great Pyramid and the megaliths at Nabta Playa to Immanuel Veli-
kovsky’s astronomical insight; from zero point energy and cold fusion, to Rupert Sheldrake’s
research into telepathy and ESP, we think you will see that the facts are something quite dif-
ferent from what you may have been led to believe. And, if, in the end, you ask yourself, just
why is such material excluded from consensus thought—indeed, why even its discussion has
been virtually forbidden—then you are asking the same difficult questions as are the authors
of Forbidden Science .
There is an organized war going on in science: materialistic (matter-based) theory versus
anything that could be termed a belief system. Masaru Emoto’s research into the energetics
of water, for example, although supported by impressive photographic evidence, has been
scoffed at by mainstream science because Emoto has dared to assert that humans affect their
surroundings with their thoughts. The absolute rejection of such notions by the scientific es-
tablishment is, it can be argued, detrimental to true scientific inquiry, nevertheless, it serves,
conveniently, to preserve funding for its own “safe” projects, those that will not rock the es-
tablished hierarchy or the accepted official consensus. This book serves as a compelling intro-
duction to the true history of alternative New Science research, the kind which takes or-
thodox science either as a mere starting point or as entirely wrongheaded from the outset.
Forbidden or not, these new lines of scientific research themselves bar no path to the truth.
