There is a science of getting rich. It is an exact science,
2
like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which
3
govern the process of acquiring riches. Once you learn and
4
obey these laws, you will automatically become a member
5
of that select group of people who live “The Secret” and
6
you will get rich with mathematical certainty.
7
There is but one Great Law: namely, “Energy Is.”
8
All physical and mental science is based on this
9
one great law and its seven subsidiary laws which
10
operate in co-ordination with each other. The Law of
11
Vibration is the law that serves as the foundation for the
12
“Law of Attraction.”

5. The Law of Rhythm

6. The Law of Cause and Effect

The best deinition of Natural Law seems to be

that, “It is the uniform and orderly method of the
22
omnipotent God.”

Unlike any other form of animal life that has been created,
24
we were given the power of choice or free will; along with
25
this power came certain responsibilities. The capacity to

choose does not involve freedom from the consequence of
27
our choice. The laws or rules which govern every individual,
28
and which we cover to some degree in this book, are as
29
exact as the laws which govern the material universe. You
30
can act in accordance with these laws or you can disregard
31
them, but you cannot in any way alter them. The law forever
32
operates and holds you to strict accountability, and there
33
is not the slightest allowance made for ignorance. As you
34
have witnessed viewing “The Secret,” the Law of Attraction
35
will deliver to you what you do not want as quickly and as
36
certainly as it will deliver what you do want.

The ownership of money and property comes as a result of
38
doing things in a certain way (by law). Those who do things
39
in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally,
40
get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way,
41
no matter how hard they work or how able they are,
42
remain poor.

It is a natural law that like causes always produce like
44
effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do
45
things in this certain way will infallibly get rich.

That the above statement is true is shown by the
47
following facts.

Getting rich is not a matter of environment. If it were,
49
all the people in certain areas would become wealthy. The
50
people of one city would all be rich, while those of other
51
towns would all be poor. The inhabitants of one state would

roll in wealth, while those of an adjoining state would
53
be in poverty.

We frequently see rich and poor living in the same
55
environment and often engaged in the same vocations.

When two people are in the same locality and in the same
57
business — and one gets rich while the other remains poor
58
— it shows that getting rich is not primarily a matter of
59
environment. Some environments may be more favorable
60
than others, but when two people in the same business are
61
in the same neighborhood — and one gets rich while the
62
other fails — it indicates that getting rich is the result of
63
doing things in a certain way.

And, furthermore, the ability to do things in this certain
65
way is not due solely to the possession of talent, because
66
many people who have great talent remain poor, while
67
others who have very little talent get rich.

If we study people who have gotten rich, we ind that
69
they are an average lot in all respects. It is evident that
70
they do not get rich because they possess unique talents
71
and abilities. They get rich because they happen to do
72
things in a certain way.

Getting rich is not the result of saving or thrift.

Many very penurious people are poor, while free spenders
75
often get rich.

Nor is getting rich due to doing things which others

fail to do. Two people in the same business often do

almost exactly the same things, and one gets rich while the

other remains poor or becomes bankrupt. What are you in
80
harmonious vibration with?

From all these things, we must come to the conclusion that
82
getting rich is the result of doing things in a certain way.

If getting rich is the result of doing things in a certain
84
way, then any man or woman who can do things in that
85
way can become rich. And if like causes always produce like
86
effects, the whole matter can be brought within the domain
87
of an exact science.

The question arises whether this certain way may
89
not be so dificult that only a few may follow it. As we
90
have seen, this cannot be true so far as natural ability is
91
concerned. Talented people get rich, and blockheads get
92
rich. Intellectually brilliant people get rich, and very stupid
93
people get rich. Physically strong people get rich, and weak
94
and sickly people get rich.

Some degree of ability to think and understand is, of
96
course, essential. But, in so far as natural ability is concerned,
97
any man or woman who has sense enough to read and
98
understand these words can certainly get rich.

Although we have seen that it is not a matter of environment,
100
location does count for something. One would not go to the
101
heart of the Sahara and expect to do successful business.

Getting rich involves the necessity of dealing with people
103
and of being where there are people to deal with. But, that

is about as far as environment matters. If anybody else in
105
your town can get rich, so can you. If anybody else in your
106
state can get rich, so can you.

Again, it is not a matter of choosing some particular

business or profession. People get rich in every business
109
and in every profession — while their next door neighbors
110
in the same vocation remain in poverty.

It is true that you will do best in a business which
112
you like. And, if you have certain talents which are well
113
developed, you will do best in a business which calls for
114
the exercise of those talents.

Also, you will do best in a business which is suited to
116
your locality. An ice cream parlor would do better in a
117
warm climate than in Greenland. A salmon ishery will
118
succeed better in the Northwest than in Florida where
119
there are no salmon.

But, aside from these general limitations, getting rich
121
is not dependent on your engaging in some particular
122
business, but on your learning to do things in a certain
123
way. If you are now in business — and someone else in
124
your locality is getting rich in the same business, while you
125
are not getting rich — it is because you are not doing things
126
in the same way that the other person is doing them. “The
127
Secret” is being demonstrated here... lack and abundance
128
are in the same locality.

No one is prevented from getting rich by lack of capital.
